PAC General Information - Williamstown Public Schools JOIN THE PAC The Parents Advisory Council (PAC) on Special Education welcomes all interested parents to join our dynamic organization. We work to foster better understanding and communication among school staff, administrators, school committees, parents and the community at large concerning all aspects of special education. We serve as advisors to parents and other interested parties about special education regulations, policies, and procedures. In addition, we are an advisory council for Williamstown Public Schools to ensure parental input into special education programs and policies in the community and state. In recent years we have helped to make Williamstown Elementary School a fully inclusive school. We have contributed to the improvement the pre-school playground, sponsored workshops, facilitated the hiring of a full-time registered nurse, and offered support for families of special needs children. Presently, we are working to create a resource library in conjunction with the Inclusion Facilitator and we are creatively raising funds to support our school. We do a lot and you can do a lot, too. We
welcome you to join our meetings, the first Wednesday of every month in
the school library. C'mon
and be a..... "Leader of the PAC!" Q&A: What is the Box Tops Program? The Parent's Advisory Council is proud to announce the kick-off of the "General Mills Box Top for Education" fund-raising program. The program is so simple. Parents and students simply clip Box Tops off participating General Mills products and send them to school. The school receives a check valued at 10 cents for every Box Top redeemed. The money will be used in a variety of ways to enhance our children's educational experiences at Williamstown Elementary School. This year, the program has expanded significantly with the addition of Betty Crocker products. Because the Box Tops fund-raiser is so easy to participate in, the PAC hopes that even more community members will take advantage of the opportunity to raise funds for WPS. Collection bins will be set up outside the main office. For more information on the Box Top program or how you can help the PAC, log on www.boxtops4education.com or contact me, Karen Whalen at 458-2771, or 597-3203.
